Brompton in The Sun

Not the kindest of article, but what do you expect. Sounds like Emma needed to give it a bit more time to get used to the steering.

Very cute!
OK, decided to post you here. My LBS finally fixed my gearing issue: the bloody rear shifting cable got kinked and bent out of shape (probably due to careless folding).

Now it shifts beautifully!
YAY!

Second, I have been recommended a Pantour hub or a Steve
Parry suspension stem for the potholes. Do you know anything about these products?

Cheers!

Glad that's fixed the gears. Hopefully they won't give you any further trouble.

No personal experience with either the SP post or the Pantour. Suspect that the rear (really central) suspension that the B. has is pretty good. A cheaper option might be a sprung saddle if you don't want to go the Brooks route.

Pantours might take a bit out of some pot holes, but I get the impression that they are mostly for general road vibrations and small bumps - good for rolling resistance and sore hands.

Have you tried Marathon tires?

OK, I bought it!
I have a nice brommie!
thanks for your help vites, and it's good to see you back again!

The Brooks saddle! took the bite out of the potholes. Didnt realize how superior it is to the regular saddle till I tried it. I was hooked!
I dont usuall instant-buy but the Brooks was an instant buy!
Marathon tyres are too slow...they were on the Tikit! I like the yellows better!

My fiancee also liked the brommie, however she prefers her 45lb Mongoose MTB. Go figure!

She likes it for very good sentimental reasons though!

Cheers!

Delighted to hear it. Hope you have many happy years together. The Brooks just gets better over the miles (a bit of proofride for the first few months, then a couple of times a year).

Have a M. on the back and a yellow on the front. Agree about seeming a little slow (and heavier), but seem a bit better on on the wet. Welcome to the fold...
